Travel will make you more capable, mature and able to look after yourself. It's only after hopping on flights and hunting for hotels on your own that you stop calling your parents for help. You become an independent person, relying on yourself because you have too as no one else will. You solely responsible for yourself and it's you who get yourself from A to B. Budgeting, arriving for flights and coaches on time and everything else that goes into travelling is done by the traveler not their parents.
